free advertising on wordpost.org in 2010
Yep, free.
So why would anyone want to advertise here anyway?
This blog has been growing around the last three months…something crazy like 304% since August (according to Google Analytics).
I normally write for those who are interested in marketing, social media, or general frustrations with business. These are my people. Although they are far fewer than the armies of Chris Brogan or Dan Schawbel, most still have wallets.
I would venture to say that most of my readers are also entrepreneurial minded, have some experience with small business, and/or are members of generation y.
And you have to figure with free, there’s relatively low risk.
What’s the catch?
If anyone is interested in taking me up on the offer, here are the guidelines:
- Only one ad goes up at a time.
- I reserve the right to determine if an organization will or will not be granted free space on this blog.
- Since I’m not terribly concerned with IAB standards, we can discuss size.
- If I have more requests than I can handle, preference will be given to any non-profits or charity organizations. I know this isn’t fair, but I’m making the rules.
- A representative from your organization must submit to a 10-minute interview with me.
- This interview will either be captured using a video service like wetoku or, if you’re stuck in 1999 and don’t have a webcam, via email.
- This also should give you some time to pitch your product and your site beyond the few pixels on the front page (although if you shamelessly pitch your company throughout the interview, I’ll take your ad down).
And that’s it. A banner and 10 minutes of your time is all it takes.
What’s in it for me
The interview part is what I get out of this. I hope to meet interesting people and let them share their stories with me and my readers.
